Shot number used in *memento* and the titles..

The titles in memento are structured in a very basic list manner. basically lists the roles in the movie and then the person that had that role afterwards, i noticed that the main production logo came first, as with many other films the production logos always come first, but i was quite surprised to see the director was named later on in the sequence and not sooner, as i would of thought the diretcor had a major role in the making of the movie so therefore had a higher place in the titles list.

There is mainly one shot used within this sequence, where the cmaera is lookin over / on to the photos that the man is processing. Its is the same in most of the opening sequence, but at 1.56 the camera moves to show the man placing a photo into his camera and into his side pocket, there are a varity of movements used in this 10 sec clip, but it is only one camera shot, with the action hapening on one angle. The camera then pans up, and follws the movement of the guy lifting up the camera, this is shortly followed by the guy taking a photo, this then is closely followed with his reaction to the photo, *reaction shot*.

at aprox *2.05* there is a very quick camera angle change which shows the guy putting his camera away again, this is showing that the guy is acting very quickly and in hast, adds more drama and makes the scene much more tense, which is good for an opening scenem becuase it makes the audience want to watch on.

Then it cuts back to his face again very quickly and then this is followed by (in the last 5-6 secs, by a cmaera shot of what i can only assume is the floor with blood on it, this again adds to the tense atmosphere within this short scene.

Overall this is a short, yet very effective title sequence, with only a few camera / angle changes at the end, builds up the tension very well and keeps the audience fixed on the action aswell as the titles, which is very important (always keep the audience in mind, never go above what is needed and keep it as simple as possible)
